its been a while

It most definitely been a while since I last blogged, I hope you all haven't forgot me!! In fact a whole year has passed to day since I had my baby girl.  I know it has gone quick right? It’s been a turbulent year; it’s had its up and downs. Mostly struggling with a baby with eczema, which really has impacted on every aspect of family life? I have been managing on mostly four hours of broken sleep a night. Things are improving slowly and my knowledge on the subject has improved significantly. I have read so many medical journals on the subject to find what will help to alleviate or cure her for good.

I have just come back off holiday. We had a little break at a seaside resort and the children enjoyed the beach, and I enjoyed our daily walks to new places. We had so many things to pack for the journey. With not much time with a baby and teenager to do it, I forgot to bring any crafting materials. I did buy a really good craft magazine while holidaying, full of lots of projects I would like to try which has definitely wet my appetite. I want to get stuck back into crafting again, as I have not made much since baby has been born. Here are some of the things I made while pregnant and hopefully I will have more makes to show you soon!

  1. Some beautiful makes, hopefully you will be back to crafting soon. So sorry about your little ones skin condition, have you found anything that helps? My eldest granddaughter has it but it is managed with emulsifiers for the bath and cream.

  3. Hi Joy, it's so nice to see an new post from you. Happy birthday to your baby girl, it's hard to believe she's already one year old! I hope the eczema improves for her. I remember that you said she had some problems with it. Take care and enjoy your baby.

  4. Such beautiful makes. Enjoy every moment with your little one :-) I am sure you have had so much eczema advice but it was stopping dairy that cured my boy's baby eczema, now he has no problems unless he has dairy. We found that goats milk was a good alternative but you do need to cut the dairy more or less completely out. x

  7. Hi Joy, Your craft work is very nice! Congrats on the new post, but listen ... I understand! :-) Did I tell you about my new volunteer activity? I am helping in the nursery at the hospital just to hold and rock newborn babies when the nurses and/or parents are too busy. Babies are fun and so sweet! And they can get fussy too! Ha ha. Anyway, they need a lot of attention so I know how busy you have been as a new mom. Congrats on your little one!

  9. Hi Joy!

There is no need to rush creative projects (well, as long as you do not have a deadline, that is).

Dreaming about future projects is funt, too.

    How is Holly doing?

  11. Aw, hope the eczema improves, poor baby. Imogen had had bouts of it over the years and it was quite bad behind her knees when she was a baby, though much better now xx

  12. Oh gosh Joy, I can't believe a whole year has gone by since your little one was born, back then I was still dreaming of being a mama and now i'm days away from meeting my own little one! I hope your little girl had a good birthday, that you find something to help her and find time to fit in some crafting! x

  14. Hi Joy, Thanks for being the first commenter on my post today and what a nice comment! Thank you very much. I believe you are in the UK. I wonder how your summer is going. Is fall in the air? It is here, and we had quite a wind/rain storm yesterday. Penny lost power up in Vancover and I guess I'm lucky down here, but they said about half a million in the Seattle area lost power. I hope all is well with you and your family. Best regards from the Pacific Northwest!

  15. Hi Joy, sorry to be so late to comment. Somehow I missed the post when you posted it and I decided to come by and take a look anyway!

As John mentioned above, I lost my power for about 16 hours with the huge windstorm we had. We also got buckets of much needed rain. It continues today though perhaps not as severe.

I love looking back at all the crochet makes you accomplished during pregnancy. They really are lovely and now that baby Holly is one year old, I think slowly you will have a bit more time to get back into crafting. The year has gone by so fast! Soon baby will be walking and talking.

    Hugs. xx

  16. Hi there, I just came across your blog from a comment you made on Lynne's Pieceful blog. Been enjoying reading some of your posts. My 2 yr old grandson also suffers from eczema. My daughter struggles with it daily, trying to find a solution. We know there's so many worse things that could be wrong, but, oh, it's so difficult. Finn's is the worst on his cheeks, and not as bad on the rest of his body. Good luck to you and your children!
